SUZUKI GSXR 750 SRAD
1996 - 1999
The GSXR had notable success on world and domestic series world wide. Perhaps its greatest achievements though were winning multiple Endurance World Championships in the hands of the SERT, including making a British world champion in Terry Rymer 1999.

What Motorcycle News said...

"...they replaced it with a chassis developed from their RGV Grand Prix machine, crammed in a fallen angel of a motor and then sculpted the shape in a wind tunnel. The Suzuki GSX-R750 is nothing less than a track thoroughbred.”

There are few shapes as distinctive as the SRAD, both the 600 and 750 sharing the same silhouette. Bridging the gap between the carburettors and fuel injection the 750 was one of the first mainstream sportsbikes to make the jump. The SRAD is truly an icon.
OUR SUZUKI GSXR 750 SRAD
ESSENTIAL FACTS
We have a particular soft spot for the SRAD - some would say it's our 'unicorn'. The bike we have available to ride is a 1998 fuel-injected model sporting the year 2000 Crescent Chris Walker colours, made famous in those titanic BSB tussles with Neil Hodgson.
  • The engine in our Suzuki remains standard but breathes through an aftermarket air filter and free flowing Yoshimuru exhaust system.
  • The GSXR was a mass-produced motorcycle and as such some of the running equipment is not as deluxe as, for example, the Ducati. To that end, the forks have Maxton SD25 cartridges replacing the standard internals and the stanchions have been treated to a gold low friction coating. The rear suspension is an entirely new Maxton unit.
  • The six pot brake calipers that the GSXR was factory-fitted with were never famous for their feel, and the last 25 years has not enhanced that reputation! Braking is now looked after far better by a fresh pair of Brembo calipers and matching master cylinder. Lines are by HEL.
  • Cooling hoses are all replaced with Samco Sport items.
  • Handlebars/clipons, lever protection and bespoke machined parts supplied by Vigour Multi-Axis Machining Specialists.
  • Grip is taken care of by Dunlop - the Dunlop D212 GP Racer tyres have their pedigree routed firmly in Isle of Man TT success.
  • A combination of riding this and seeing the Team Classic Suzuki on track has spurred Kieran on to build another SRAD.
